I've been building BBQ Smokers as a hobby and business for over 13 years as of 2023. I have a strong background in the Refrigeration, HVAC, and Food Equipment Industry. For the last 28 years I have made a living with temperature control, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer in many applications in the real world. My passion, SmokerBuilder, was founded in 2010 with a small blog and a shop full of tools. My mission was, and still is, to "Teach people to build a smoker".

Since then, I've published over 200 sets of smoker plans, designed and manufactured a vast array of parts, smokers, and grills for DIY smoker builders, eCommerce companies, smoker manufacturers, as well as our own product lines, and produced in person and online courses teaching fabrication.
